The DATAMIND (opens in a new tab) Trusted Research Environment (TRE) combines secure, governed access to sensitive mental health data with specialist mental health research capabilities, including imaging and omics resources and AI-enabled analysis. The DATAMIND Observatory provides specialist real-world analytics to inform research and trial decisions, with disclosure-controlled outputs for industry partners. Together, these services connect secure data infrastructure with the expertise to turn data into useful evidence. The Observatory is at an early stage of development, with services being developed over the course of the Mental Health Goals Programme.

How this differs from other infrastructure
- The TRE provides a specialist mental health research platform combining expertise in free text, imaging, omics and multimodal data, designed around the needs of mental health research.
- DATAMIND provides access to deeply phenotyped cohort data and supports linkage to national datasets, enabling researchers to complement routinely collected health records with rich research data for more detailed mental health research.
- The Observatory combines access to research-ready datasets and secure analytics environments with deep expertise in UK mental health data, services and research. Outputs are not only methodologically robust, but also clinically meaningful, contextually informed, and relevant to real-world decisions across the mental health treatment development pathway.
