Create a simple, national structure to support entry into the UK for industry-led research and trials.

The AMT uses expertise in data, digital and pharma and strong linkage to trials methodology, lived experience and expertise to bring research and trials into the UK across the MH spectrum Brings Industry In

The AMT is a wrap-around service for industry — linking companies with methodology expertise in trial design and delivery, the lived experience partnership, bespoke IP and royalty strategies, funding applications and advisory board development. It provides a seamless structure that is simple to navigate for companies of every size, complementing the NIHR Innovation Service (opens in a new tab) and the MRC Mental Health Platform (opens in a new tab).

Primary focus

  1. Understanding barriers to working with UK
  2. Developing alliances and partnerships with industry
  3. Creating tools to support an improved landscape for planning studies and trials with various partners

Key questions & challenges

  1. How do we make planning studies in the UK better for industry?
  2. Can we empower industry to discover UK cohorts/sites?
  3. Can we create innovative partnerships to improve MH diagnosis and treatment?

How this differs from other infrastructure

  1. We focus on discovery and planning more than delivery where we expect to link-up with sites, cohorts, MHM, TRCs, RDNs
  2. We focus on tools developed with industry in mind to support entry into the UK
  3. We work across the entirety of MH, including psychiatric symptoms in neurodegenerative disorders
